Protocol

The method involves (in short):
- Measuring a tea bag before incubation in the field
- Proper installation (correct depth, exposition and marking)
- Retrieval of the tea bags at various time steps (incubation intervals)
- Proper cleaning of the tea bags
- Measuring a tea bag after retrieval and cleaning
- Using the difference in weight as a measure of the organic material decomposed
